TG #26: Guest Hosts Strike Back

April 27, 2009 – 5:00 am

This time on Tweak and Geek, Laure and Mike step up to the plate while Pat and Craig are on hiatus.

Spoiler alert! Laurie and Mike talk Lost. Time travel, Ben’s new role as Locke’s whipping boy, and a potential third faction are discussed.

Blackberry Woes
Laurie and Pat are having issues with their Blackberry Pearls; they intermittently lose information like text messages and call history, despite software/firmware updates. Laurie also doesn’t like how the GPS requires data connectivity in order to function. Mike has the same problem (the GPS one) with his iPhone. Mike tries to convince Laurie to upgrade to an iPhone.

iPhone OS 3.0
Mike covers some of the features due in the upcoming iPhone OS release, most of which can be found in the Apple iPhone 3.0 details.

  3. Hello, Michael! It is your Auntie Elizabeth, in Arkansas! Just a quick note to let you know…

You and Laurie did a very good job together! It is difficult to keep a monologue going for such a long time; it isn’t something we engage in during the regular course of the day! Bravo and cudos to you both.

Well, NOOOOOOo…I had NO idea what you were talking about on most of it…blush! We don’t watch t.v., so an entire topic was LOST on me…baw haw haw haw haaaaaaw! I was able to concentrate on the balance of your voice exchanges, and response delivery speed. You were great!

Understood the Blackberry Pearl part…your cousin Thibideaux has one. Since the only function I care about is the one that goes, “ring…ring…Hello?”, I continued to evaluate your exchanges, and rated you well on flow and execution.

Understood the methane production of cows PERFECTLY! You saved the best for last! Scientists estimate that if we could reduce the amount of gas (that) cows produce around the world, it would make a larger impact on reducing damage to the ozone layer than eliminating cars completely! Amazing! If we can discover a way to harness it, we could stop all dependency on other resources! That means that Saudi income would go down the toilet… sob sob… and they would be able to afford only 12 wives, instead of 50…and drive ONE designer Hummer instead of a fleet.

    I will cry all night!

This was supposed to be about YOU, wasn’t it? My error…hee hee!

Keep up the good work! Proud of you! My best to Laurie…high five, talk-show lady!

Tootles to all…lots of love! Elizabeth

  6. I am also a koolaid drinker of the church of the iPhone. I was not sold on it before I got it, and I still do not like to go into Apple Stores, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE this phone.
